It has been used in various eye conditions such as those related to diabetes, retinitis, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, optic nerve conditions, improvement of visual fields, diabetic retinopathy, and similar. It is an extract from the eyes of young calves. The dose is like other peptide regulators, for example, two capsules a day for a month, with repeated courses, adjusted according to response.

In a research papter it was reported that Visoluten promotes resoration of the physiological activity of the retina in retinitis pigmentosa in older adults and in animal models.
